Mary Venable has devoted her life to the rescue of Boxers and select breeds. While Mary was working for the Humane Educational Society she realized rescue was definitely her calling. With the help of her friends and along with rescue volunteers from Pet Friends of North Georgia we are able to save the lives of lots of animals in need. Marla Cox founded Pet Friends of North Georgia and is a great help ! At her facility she rescues Labs, Dalmatians and various small breeds. Donna and James Dravland spend endless hours each week volunteering with the Humane Educational Society and focus on saving hounds and small breeds. Lois Wimberly has a special gift for the 10 pound babies. Cheryl and Chico Jackson have become amazing foster parents for boxers when we are at capacity and Laurel Abernathy helps in every way she can to get each dog in need to it's foster home.
Mary is certified in Training, Behavior and Care from the Animal Behavior College. She trained and mentored with Nancy Miller of Play Dog Excellent in Tennessee and has spent considerable time in shelters working with dogs and volunteers. She has rescued, rehabilitated, trained and fostered 6 to 10 boxers/english bulldogs every month since 2002 . Even though in 2010 Mary decided to move back home to Chicago with her 4 personal dogs she continues to manage her website and be involved in the rescue process.
